Save Kentucky's Hemlocks is a partnership of citizens, non-profits and
government agencies working together to save eastern hemlocks (Tsuga
canadensis), a foundation species in the southern Appalachian region,
from the impacts of hemlock woolly adelgid. Funding the initiative combines
limited government funds with private donations to the Kentucky Natural
Lands Trust, a nonprofit organization, with lead gifts from Toyota Motor
Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc., and Columbia Gas.
Toyota Motor Manufacturing of Kentucky (TMMK), Inc. is the lead sponsor
of the Save Kentucky’s Hemlock project. Funds from TMMK are directly
supporting treatments of hemlock trees in the priority areas as well as
allowing Save Kentucky’s Hemlocks to educate Kentuckians about the
importance of hemlocks to our state and the devastation caused by the
hemlock woolly adelgid.

To raise the awareness and resources needed to protect Kentucky’s
natural areas.
